"I felt like a slimy, sticky worm with no vertebrae in a dark hole deep underground." Based on the description of a perceived state of being of the patient, the psycho-therapist reacts with a statement, which she does not explain further, however, "This means the dissolution of the ego." A sentence which leaves the patient somewhat perplexed.
In the performance she explores this possible dissolution and examines being exposed, the delimitations of the ego as a closed entity separated from the outside world, permeability and connectedness in relation to our environment, our surroundings and other presences or forms of being. Spoken texts can be heard from the loudspeakers, evoking surreal (dream) images, while the performer handles rubber gloves and a branch, somewhere between animism or clinical examination. She thus refers to the Rubber-Hand-Illusion, a scientific experiment, in which it is proven that the feeling for subjective ownership over one's body can be easily disrupted and potentially be extended to other objects and entities.
